THE ESTATE
A New Chapter in Texas Wine
On the rim of Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the United States, sits a wine ranch unlike anything in Texas.
Our 120 acres sit at the edge of something ancient and wild. Through our partnership with MERUS Adventure Park, members and guests access over 5,500 acres of private canyon land. Trails, overlooks, off-road excursions, and terrain most people will never see.
Stay in canyon-view cabins. Explore by vehicle, bike, or foot. Return for wine as the sun drops and the canyon walls turn gold. After sunset, the canyon falls silent. The stars come out by the thousands.
Just thirty minutes from Amarillo. A world away from everything else.
This is not Hill Country. This is not Napa. This is Texas wine the way it has never been done. Where adventure and hospitality meet, and the land shapes everything.
First vines go in the ground in 2027. Those who join us now help build what comes next.

OUR STORY
The Harder the Vine Grows, the Better the Grape
There is an old saying in wine country:
the harder the vine must work, the better the fruit it produces.
Our family knows something about that.
The Newells are a military family. Three generations of service, from Panama to Iraq to Syria. We have lived all over the world, but Texas is where we each came home.
We are also a family of entrepreneurs. Builders. People who believe it takes a village to raise a family and that the best things are made together.
Five years ago, Pete and Vianne were introduced to Palo Duro Canyon through a friendship with the van Reenen family and MERUS Adventure Park. They came as visitors. Became members. Then partners. Somewhere along the way, this canyon started to feel like home.
Golden Hour Estates is Ian's expansion on that original vision. A way to share the beauty of Palo Duro Canyon with the rest of the world. A place where families gather, where time slows down, memories are made, and where we could build a legacy worth passing down.
We partnered with Texas A&M and Texas Tech to study the land. What they found confirmed what we felt. This canyon could grow something exceptional.
Today it is a family effort. Pete and Vianne. Ian. Tanner and Caroline. We are building this together, and we want you to join the village.
